CAPTURE TYPICAL FEATURES OF SOUTH VIETNAM

CHAU DOC - LONG XUYEN - CAN THO - SOC TRANG – SAIGON (5 Days)

Day 1: Phnom Penh - Chau Doc

Transfer to Chau Doc by Hang Chau Express boat.  Arrive in Chau Doc, pick up and transfer to a hotel for check-in. Afternoon, visit the Sam Mountain with the caved pagoda, enjoy the sunset down the Vietnamese – Cambodian border from the summit of the mountain over the flat rice field. Have dinner and overnight in Chau Doc.  

Day 2: Chau Doc - Long Xuyen - Can Tho

Breakfast at hotel. Take the motorized boat trip to visit the floating fish farm and the floating village, visit the local Cham minority village and her traditional weaving village. Depart for Long Xuyen, visit the bird Sanctuary in Thot Not. Visit the incense stick making village.Transfer to My Khanh homestay by private car. Check in the cottage. Afternoon, trekking around the village to experience the life style of the Mekong Delta people. Join the family for cooking. Have dinner. Enjoy the folks music with your neighbors. Overnight at the riverside cottages.

Day 3: Can Tho - Soc Trang – Saigon

After breakfast. Visitors first take the boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river. The boat trip later takes you to the Cai Rang and Phong Dien floating markets, which are the most original ones and bustling places of the region. Here, they have a chance to experience how to pass a "Monkey bridge" which is built by only one bamboo. And proceed to Soc Trang by land. Lunch at local restaurant en route. Continue to visit Bat Pagoda, Clay Pagoda and Khmer Museum, the Khmer Krom village around here. After that transfer to to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 4: Saigon City Tour - Cuchi Tunnel

Today we spend a half day seeing some major sights of the city with visits to the Reunification Palace which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975, and some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Sai Gon Post Office. After seeing the Jade Emperor Pagoda and the War Remnants Museum, we continue our trip on to the bustling Ben Thanh Market where anything and everything is for sale!.Afterwards we continue to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, which were an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, plus accommodation and schools, and were used as a military base for the Vietcong in the American war. Overnight in hotel in Saigon.

Day 5: Saigon - Departure

Transfer to the airport for flight back home.

End of service.
